Teacher Thoughts about Writing in the Science Classroom

Writing Prompts

A couple of weeks ago I was searching Google for ways to improve journal writing. My problem was coming up with things to write about. This really isn't a problem. Most of us have the problem of finding the time to write.

During my search I came across a book written to help journal writers by providing a prompt for all 365 days of the year. Now that's a bit much, but it stirred an idea. Why couldn't I come up with prompts that would help me and others come up with writing ideas, especially for students.

In the comment box below, let me know what you think might be a good prompt for elementary kids that ties what they're learning about science and they may want to share with others. If you received this prompt on Facebook or other medium, log in to the blog and give me your thoughts.

What's this All About?

This blog includes students thoughts about their favorite weekly science activities. Hopefully children will use this medium to share their thoughts. In turn their words will hopefully inspire them to write more often and share their thoughts with others.

As a consequence, teachers will read and use their posts about what they think is fun and take a hint and develop interesting lessons. It's often hard to really get into the mind of a child and get an idea of what will help them learn.

Thanks ahead of time to all of the students and teachers who participate in this project.
